Der handbetätigte Schröpfapplikator (1) hat die Form eines Hohlkörpers mit zumindest einer behandlungsseitigen Öffnung (2). Er besteht aus federelastischem Material, dessen Rückstellkraft so dimensioniert ist, dass er durch die Kraft einer menschlichen Hand komprimiert werden kann und nach Ende der manuellen Kompression wieder vollständig zu seiner ursprünglichen Form zurückkehrt. Seine Schröpf- und Saugwellenfunktion entfaltet sich, wenn er im zusammengedrückten Zustand auf die Oberfläche der Haut (5) unter leichtem Druck aufgesetzt und dann losgelassen wird. Kern der Erfindung ist eine zirkuläre Schwächung der Seitenwand 1b des Schröpfapplikators 1, beispielsweise durch zwei im Inneren des Schröpfapplikators (1) eingetiefte Rundnuten 1c. Durch axiale Kompression, die durch diese Wandschwächung erleichtert wird, vermindert sich das Binnenvolumen des Schröpfapplikators. Beim Loslassen entsteht ein Vakuum, wenn der Applikator zuvor mit seiner behandlungsseitigen Öffnung (2) auf die Oberfläche der Haut (5) aufgesetzt wurde. Das Vakuum saugt, je nach seiner Stärke, eine mehr oder weniger hohe Hautfalte (6) in den Binnenraum des Schröpfapplikators (1) hinein. Der Anwender/Therapeut kann den Schröpfapplikator (1) wie ein herkömmliches Schröpfglas für längere Zeit am Ort lassen und trocken oder (nach vorheriger Skarifizierung der Haut) blutig schröpfen. Er kann ihn auch im Sinne einer Translation tangential über die Haut ziehen, wobei die eingesaugte Hautfalte (6) mitwandert. Dies entspricht der klassischen Saugwellenmassage. Kombinierbar mit dem Schröpfapplikator 1 sind Innenteile (3) zur Aufnahme von Wirkelementen (4), beispielsweise Wärme abgebenden und Wärme aufnehmenden Elementen, aber auch näherungsweise sackförmige Reservoire für Medien in der Art von Salben, Lotionen oder Ölen.
