A continuously variable transmission comprising a first pulley means, a second pulley means and an elongate, flexible endless transmission element that is passed over both the first pulley means and the second pulley means, wherein the first pulley means comprises two sheaves, which are adjustable in an axial direction of the first rotation axis line, and an adjusting means for moving the two adjustable sheaves toward and away from each other in axial direction for setting an operative radius of the first pulley means at which the transmission element is passed over the first pulley means, wherein the first pulley means is provided with alignment means for causing the two movable sheaves to jointly move additionally in the axial direction of the first rotation axis under the influence of a force exerted in axial direction on the first pulley means by the transmission element whilst maintaining the operative radius. A vehicle provided with a continuously variable transmission.

L'invention concerne une transmission à variation continue comprenant un premier moyen poulie, un deuxième moyen poulie et un élément de transmission sans fin souple et allongé qui est passé à la fois sur le premier moyen poulie et le deuxième moyen poulie, où le premier moyen poulie comprend deux réas, qui sont réglables dans une direction axiale de la première ligne axe de rotation et un moyen de réglage permettant de déplacer les deux réas réglables pour les rapprocher ou les éloigner l'un de l'autre dans une direction axiale pour définir un rayon de fonctionnement du premier moyen poulie au niveau duquel l'élément de transmission est passé sur le premier moyen poulie, où le premier moyen poulie est pourvu de moyens d'alignement permettant de provoquer le mouvement conjoint supplémentaire des deux réas mobiles dans la direction axiale du premier axe de rotation sous l'effet d'une force exercée dans une direction axiale sur le premier moyen poulie par l'élément de transmission tout en maintenant le rayon de fonctionnement. L'invention concerne également un véhicule pourvu d'une transmission à variation continue.
