Abstract
(EN) System (1) for monitoring the thoracic excursion of a subject, the system (1) comprising a monitoring device (2), comprising attaching means (4), integratable into a garment, a stretch sensor (5), and transmitting means (6), and a receiver unit (7), which is spatially divided from the monitoring device (2), wherein the stretch sensor (5) is for attachment to the subject's body to detect a signal corresponding to expansion and contraction of the thorax, and wherein the transmitting means (6) include evaluation means (13) to process the signal obtained from the stretch sensor (5), wherein the evaluation means (13) is configured to divide the expansion and contraction of the thorax into thorax excursions and interference signals, wherein the evaluation means (13) is configured to detect a triggering event, wherein the triggering event is reached as soon as the frequency of the thoracic excursion falls out of a predefined frequency range over a predefined time span, wherein the transmitting means (6) include an emitter (14) to emit a signal to the receiver unit (7) if the triggering event is detected, an wherein the receiver unit (7) is configured to receive said signal of the emitter (14) and to issue an alert signal.
