Provided herein are biosensors and methods for detecting an odorant ligand using one or more populations of olfactory sensory neurons, or cilia derived therefrom, where each population preferentially expresses an odorant receptor recognizing said odorant ligand. In embodiments, the olfactory sensory neurons, or cilia derived therefrom, comprise a nucleic acid sequence encoding a tetracycline transactivator or a reverse tetracycline transactivator protein; a nucleic acid sequence comprising a tetracycline operator sequence; and a nucleic acid sequence encoding the OR.

L'invention concerne des biocapteurs et des procédés de détection d'un ligand de substances odorantes à l'aide d'une ou plusieurs populations de neurones sensoriels olfactifs, ou de cils dérivés de ceux-ci, chaque population exprimant préférentiellement un récepteur de substances odorantes reconnaissant ledit ligand de substances odorantes. Dans des modes de réalisation, les neurones sensoriels olfactifs, ou les cils dérivés de ceux-ci, comprennent une séquence d'acide nucléique codant pour un transactivateur de tétracycline ou une protéine de transactivateur de tétracycline inverse; une séquence d'acide nucléique comprenant une séquence d'opérateur de tétracycline; et une séquence d'acide nucléique codant pour le récepteur d'opérateur (OR).
