According to the present invention, a liquid crystal display element (11) has a pixel region for optically modulating incident illumination light (L1) for each pixel. A heat sink (12) dissipates heat from the liquid crystal display element (11). A first mask member (13) is fixed to the heat sink (12), is formed from a material having lower thermal conductivity than the heat sink (12), has a first opening (131) that corresponds to the pixel region, and masks unwanted light. A second mask member (15) is positioned in a position that is further separated from the liquid crystal display element (11) than that of the first mask member (13), is fixed to the heat sink (12), is formed from a material having higher thermal conductivity than the first mask member (13), has a second opening (151) that is as large as or larger than the first opening (131), and masks unwanted light.

Selon la présente invention, un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides (11) a une région de pixel pour moduler optiquement la lumière d'éclairage incidente (L1) pour chaque pixel.
