Abstract
(EN) A treatment process for crystallizing a metal sulfate involving pre-treating a feedstock comprising calcium, magnesium, and/or lithium impurities, the pre-treating involving pre-leaching the feedstock in the presence of a lixiviant, selectively extracting a first portion of any of the impurities from the feedstock, and forming a leached solution comprising an uncrystallized metal sulfate and any remaining impurities; and/or refining the leached solution and removing a second portion of any of the remaining impurities; and crystallizing the uncrystallized metal sulfate from the leached solution to form a crystallized metal sulfate. So processed, the crystallized metal sulfate may be battery-grade or electroplating-grade.
(FR) L'invention concerne un processus de traitement pour la cristallisation d'un sulfate de métal mettant en œuvre le prétraitement d'une charge comprenant des impuretés de calcium, de magnésium et/ou de lithium, le prétraitement impliquant la pré-lixiviation de la charge en présence d'un lixiviant, l'extraction sélective d'une première partie de l'une quelconque des impuretés de la charge et la formation une solution lixiviée comprenant un sulfate de métal non cristallisé et toute impureté restante ; et/ou le raffinage de la solution lixiviée et l'élimination d'une seconde partie de l'une quelconque des impuretés restantes ; et la cristallisation du sulfate de métal non cristallisé à partir de la solution lixiviée pour former un sulfate de métal cristallisé. Ainsi traité, le sulfate de métal cristallisé peut être de qualité pour batteries ou de qualité pour électrodéposition.
