Abstract
(EN) A method of generating hydrogen gas includes providing a colony of sulfur-reducing bacteria and a colony of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. The colonies can be submerged in a body of water. The colony of sulfur-reducing bacteria can be used to convert at least a portion of sulfates present in the body of water to hydrogen sulfide. The colony of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria can be used to convert the hydrogen sulfide to sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid can react with manganese to produce hydrogen gas and manganese sulfate.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'hydrogène gazeux qui consiste à fournir une colonie de bactéries réductrices de soufre et une colonie de bactéries oxydant le soufre. Les colonies peuvent être immergées dans une masse d'eau. La colonie de bactéries réductrices de soufre peut être utilisée pour convertir au moins une partie des sulfates présents dans la masse d'eau en sulfure d'hydrogène. La colonie de bactéries oxydant le soufre peut être utilisée pour convertir le sulfure d'hydrogène en acide sulfurique. L'acide sulfurique peut réagir avec le manganèse pour produire de l'hydrogène et du sulfate de manganèse.
