The present invention provides assay devices and methods for detecting the presence of an analyte in a sample. Devices according to the invention include a reagent zone, one or more capture zones and a detection zone. Capture zones can reduce the quantity of labelled conjugate that reaches the detection zone in the presence of a negative marker in the sample and/or in the absence of a positive marker in the sample, facilitating high sensitivity and improved specificity testing.

La présente invention concerne des dispositifs de dosage et des procédés pour détecter la présence d'un analyte dans un échantillon. Les dispositifs selon l'invention comprennent une zone de réactif, une ou plusieurs zones de capture et une zone de détection. Des zones de capture peuvent réduire la quantité de conjugué marqué qui atteint la zone de détection en présence d'un marqueur négatif dans l'échantillon et/ou en l'absence d'un marqueur positif dans l'échantillon, d'où un test à sensibilité élevée et à spécificité améliorée.
