Described are compositions and methods relating to modified yeast that over-express cytochrome B2. The yeast produces an increased amount of alcohol compared to parental cells. Such yeast is particularly useful for large-scale ethanol production from starch substrates.

L'invention concerne des compositions et des procédés se rapportant à une levure modifiée qui surexprime le cytochrome B2. La levure produit une quantité accrue d'alcool par rapport aux cellules parentales. Une telle levure est particulièrement utile pour la production d'éthanol à grande échelle à partir de substrats d'amidon.
