Abstract

Strains of yeasts are provided containing the genes for the production of cannabinoids from fatty acids. The enzymes that mediate cannabinoid production are localized to the cytosol, peroxisome or different compartments within the secretory pathway (e.g., endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi, vacuole) to ensure efficient production. The engineered microorganisms produce cannabinoids in a controlled fermentation process.

L'invention concerne des souches de levures contenant les gènes pour la production de cannabinoïdes à partir d'acides gras. Les enzymes qui assurent la médiation de la production de cannabinoïdes sont localisées dans le cytosol, les peroxysomes ou différents compartiments à l'intérieur de la voie sécrétoire (par exemple, le réticulum endoplasmique, l'appareil de Golgi, les vacuoles) pour assurer une production efficace. Les micro-organismes modifiés produisent des cannabinoïdes dans un processus de fermentation contrôlée.
