Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for processing video signals. In particular, a method for decoding video signals on the basis of a reduced transform, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: acquiring, from a video signal, a transform index for indicating transform kernels applied to the horizontal and vertical directions of the current block; determining a region in which a transform is applied to the current block, on the basis of the transform kernels indicated by the transform index and the size of the current block; considering, as zero, the coefficients of the remaining region within the current block, excluding the region to which the transform is applied; and performing an inverse transform on the region to which the transform is applied, by using the transform kernels indicated by the transform index.

Certains modes de réalisation de la présente invention concernent un procédé et un appareil permettant de traiter des signaux vidéo. En particulier, un procédé de décodage de signaux vidéo sur la base d'une transformée réduite, selon un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, comprend les étapes consistant : à acquérir, à partir d'un signal vidéo, un indice de transformée pour indiquer des noyaux de transformée appliqués à la direction horizontale et à la direction verticale du bloc courant ; à déterminer une région dans laquelle une transformée est appliquée au bloc courant, sur la base des noyaux de transformée indiqués par l'indice de transformée et la taille du bloc courant ; à considérer, comme zéro, les coefficients de la région restante à l'intérieur du bloc courant, à l'exception de la région sur laquelle la transformée est appliquée ; et à réaliser une transformée inverse sur la région sur laquelle la transformée est appliquée, à l'aide des noyaux de transformée indiqués par l'indice de transformée.

본 발명의 실시예들은 비디오 신호 처리 방법 및 장치를 제공한다. 특히, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 축소된 변환(Reduced transform)을 기반으로 비디오 신호를 디코딩하는 방법은, 현재 블록의 수평 및 수직 방향에 적용되는 변환 커널들(transform kernels)을 지시하는 변환 인덱스(transform index)를 상기 비디오 신호로부터 획득하는 단계; 상기 변환 인덱스에 의해 지시되는 변환 커널들 및 상기 현재 블록의 크기에 기초하여, 상기 현재 블록에 변환이 적용되는 영역을 결정하는 단계; 상기 현재 블록 내에서, 상기 변환이 적용되는 영역 이외의 나머지 영역의 계수들을 0으로 간주하는 단계; 및 상기 변환이 적용되는 영역에 대하여, 상기 변환 인덱스에 의해 지시되는 변환 커널을 이용하여 역변환(inverse transform)을 수행하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
