Abstract

A method of cooling an array of battery cells within a chamber in a housing, the battery cells being electrically connected via a busbar having at least one terminal tab for connection to an electrical terminal in the housing, the method comprising the steps of: supplying coolant through an opening in the housing into the chamber; and diverting at least a part of the coolant flow from its inlet flow path due to impingement of the flow upon part of the terminal tab.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de refroidissement d'un réseau d'éléments de batterie à l'intérieur d'une chambre dans un boîtier, les éléments de batterie étant électriquement connectés par l'intermédiaire d'une barre omnibus ayant au moins une languette de borne pour une connexion à une borne électrique dans le boîtier, le procédé consistant à : fournir un réfrigérant à travers une ouverture dans le boîtier dans la chambre ; et dévier au moins une partie de l'écoulement de réfrigérant de son trajet d'écoulement d'entrée en raison de l'impact de l'écoulement sur une partie de la languette de borne.
