Provided are MR images of a subject gastrointestinal tract structure in which the lumen of the structure is usefully darkened on both T1-weighted and T2-weighted images when the structure is imaged following administration to the subject of an enteric contrast agent formulation with particles containing encapsulated gas or partial vacuum. The present invention provides an encapsulated gas or partial vacuum particle contrast medium of use in acquiring such MR images. In an exemplary embodiment, the invention provides an enteric contrast medium formulation. An exemplary formulation comprises, (a) an enteric contrast medium comprising a encapsulated gas or partial vacuum particle suspended in water.

L'invention concerne des images obtenues par RM d'une structure de tractus gastro-intestinal d’un sujet dans laquelle la lumière de la structure est utilement assombrie à la fois sur des images pondérées en T1 et en T2 lorsque la structure est imagée après l'administration au sujet d'une formulation d'agent de contraste entérique avec des particules contenant un gaz encapsulé ou un vide partiel. La présente invention concerne un milieu de contraste de particules avec gaz encapsulé ou vide partiel pour l'utilisation dans l'acquisition de ces images obtenues par RM. Dans un exemple de mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne une formulation de produit de contraste entérique. Un exemple de formulation comprend, (a) un milieu de contraste entérique comprenant des particules avec gaz encapsulé ou vide partiel en suspension dans de l'eau.
